Skipping with kangaroos

My idea originally was that when I come to Roma, I will work hard and do a lot of sports. I did go running on my second day here and before my first shift. Next time I went running was 3 months later on a late afternoon after a unique 16h sleep. I had had an evening and the following morning off. Everyone went out that night to the magnificent one and only club, The Zone. Not me, I went to sleep 9pm. But it was such a good sleep. I woke up 1pm and was so energised, I thought not will I only go running today, but I will now start doing it  4 times per week for the last month that is left over here. Yeah, that was a good thought. On the third hour housekeeping the next day I did not feel so fresh any more.
But that day though, after 16h sleep, was such a great day. Natural high without the support of the chemicals used during my usual many hours of toilet scrubbing, wiping, vacuuming etc. So I put on my running gear and went for it. Took a random road, ended up on some small road between the fields and then it happened. Finally. A herd of kangaroos (20-30) just jumping across the road and on the field. One big one settled down and focused on looking what am I up to in this neck of the woods. I was so happy to finally encounter kangaroos, I started skipping. The big on just continued sitting there, it was less surprised than the random driver who happened to appear from nowhere.
Thus, for the record, when it comes to Australian animals, these are the ones I have seen close up in the wild: possums, echidnas, wallabies, koalas and kangaroos. Should I pick one, then echidnas won me over completely. I hadn't heard of these species before, have you?
